On acreage the chipping job is a different scale to a town yard. Owners ring us with a whole felled windrow along a fence, a season of cleared regrowth piled up, or trees already down that need turning into something useful instead of a fire hazard sitting in the open. We bring a big chipper that eats whole trunks and brash, work through the lot in a day where we can, and drop the mulch where it does the most good on the block.

Keeping the mulch on site is where acreage owners save real money. A windrow chipped and spread thin holds an erosion-prone slope, banked along a track it keeps the dust and mud down, and around tank stands and garden beds it does the usual job of locking in moisture and knocking back weeds. There is no tip run and no haulage line, the material just moves from a hazard into something the block can use.

We also deliver bulk garden mulch where you would rather buy it in than make it. Fresh hardwood chip off our own removals suits tracks, paths and around established trees. Aged composted mulch is broken down enough for garden beds and new plantings. Order by the cubic metre, dropped on the driveway, with spreading added on if you do not want to barrow it across the block yourself.

Why locals choose us

Tree Removal in Mount Evelyn, done properly

Qualified arborists with public liability insurance and a locally based crew. Quotes are written and itemised. Sites are left clean.

01

Fully insured

Ask and the Certificate of Currency is in your hands before a saw starts. Big trees and tracked machinery are exactly the jobs where that paper matters, so check ours the way you would check anyone's.

02

Qualified arborists

Reading a tree is the real skill: is the wood sound, where is the weight sitting, what will the wind do mid-cut. We assess every trunk before deciding how it comes down, and we will tell you straight when a tree is worth keeping instead of cutting.

03

Same-day response

If a tree is moving or a limb is over your only driveway, say so when you ring and you go straight to the top of the list. Everything else still gets a call back before we knock off and a quote visit within a couple of days.

04

Locally based

We spend the working week on blocks between Lilydale, Silvan and Seville, so we already know the overlays, the clay driveways that grease up after rain, and how long a wet track needs before it will carry a loaded truck.

05

Careful standards

No topping, ever. Cuts go back to the branch collar or a sound lateral so the wound can close, we cap how much live canopy comes off in one visit, and habitat hollows stay put where it is safe to leave them.

06

Right equipment

A tracked machine crosses a wet paddock without churning it up, the basket keeps our crew out of brittle dead timber, and the chipper takes whole trunks so nothing is left sitting in a burn pile.

Mulching & Wood Chipping · FAQ
Q.01 How big a tree can the chipper take?

The chipper we bring to acreage handles whole trunks and brash, well past what a town-yard machine manages, which is why we can clear a felled windrow in a day. Anything too big for the throat gets cut into rounds for firewood or carted off as a haulage line if you do not want it kept.

Q.02 Why keep the mulch on the block instead of carting it off?

On acreage there is usually a use for it and carting it costs real money. Spread thin it holds erosion-prone slopes, banked along tracks it keeps the mud and dust down, and around beds and tank stands it locks in moisture and knocks back weeds. Most owners keep the lot and only cart off what they genuinely cannot use.

Q.03 What is the difference between fresh and aged mulch?

Fresh chip comes straight off our chipper, mostly hardwood, and holds moisture and suppresses weeds well, so it suits tracks and around established trees. Aged mulch has spent months in a heap breaking down, so it is softer and gentle enough for garden beds and new plantings where fresh chip would briefly pull nitrogen from the soil.

Q.04 Can you deliver and spread mulch around Mount Evelyn?

Yes, both. The default is a tipper drop on the driveway where the truck can sit. If barrowing it across a big block is not on, add the spreading line and the crew will rake the mulch out where you want it before they leave. Worth doing on acreage where the beds and tracks are spread out.
